Type Locality and Naming

NE Fergana, Naucat Basin, well. Along the Khodgeosman oil field, Fergana. N.A. Dudko, A.M. Khutorov in 1957 (417, p.59). Lowermost formation in Changet Gr.

Synonym: Khodzhaosman Suite, Ходжаосманская св.


Lithology and Thickness

Dark red clays with layers of greenish-gray siltstone (aleurolites), sandstones, gravelites, and limestones, with ripple marks, cross-bedding, and traces of mud eaters. Thickness 15-377m.

Relationships and Distribution

Lower contact

Overlies transgressively on the Paleozoic or Hodzhabad Fm

Upper contact

Conformably overlain in NE Fergana by the Alamyshik Fm, in E Fergana by the Klaudzin Fm or Aryan Fm

Regional extent

NE Fergana, Naucat Basin, well. It is the second from the bottom suite of the Changet Gr. In the foothills of Fergana, it corresponds to the Kokyar Fm (446). I.M. Abdurazimov
